Philip Penaflor is currently the Regional Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Coordinator for Asia of the Fundacion Educacion y Cooperacion (EDUCO), an international organization promoting child rights and development based in Barcelona, Spain. In the past, he has worked as a monitoring and evaluation specialist in several countries such as the Philippines, Indonesia, Cambodia,Timor Leste, Afghanistan, Vanuatu and South Sudan. He would try to inculcate among organizations that monitoring and evaluation is an organizational tool to ensure that the organization achieves its goals and objectives.
Philip is interested in energy efficiency programs and technology because of his advocacy for sustainable development on behalf of the world’s children who will inherit our world. He has observed greater awareness on climate change globally, and there are initiatives to develop cleaner technologies with renewable energy. With this kind of development, in 10 years, he could see many more countries adopting more energy efficient technologies over fossil fuels.
Philip holds a PhD in Applied Cosmic Anthropology from the Asian Social Institute, Manila, where he also obtained his master’s degree in General Sociology.
